Guys I can't record 360 x480 video on myy gio using this... It worked before bt not now....even if I set it to higher resolution, it records to 320x240..... Help///;(

Maybe try CM7 camera?

On 2.2 froyo works perfect,record video 640x480 but on gingerbread don't work anymore.I really want to know if this record at 640x480 on other custom roms.Sorry for my bad english.

No,you need a minimum of 5 MP camera.
Or maybe he thinks that if he clicked on "480p recording" it really record in 480 but it isn't.
Also i tried to record Mpeg4 480p on Cyanogenmod but it gets a white screen after 3 seconds.

but galaxy ace has same ram/cpu so it's not a resource issue and galaxy tab has 3.15 mpx which record videos @ 480p so our camera could record @ higher than what's now

as well we have same white screen issue while recording whith a modded .xml file, hopefully it's a matter of settings

thanks for the vid, before i screw up my phone, i worked on an xml: media_profiles.xml stock ginger 2.3.3 galaxy gio branded TIM (italian provider) which is located in /etc of course in the phone memory, and ull need root access to see those files.

hopefully someone can figure out how to implement that in ginger...i couldnt..yet.

so, didnt solve anything, i extracted those files below from a rom.tar file (froyo europe no brand galaxy gio)

camera.apk in system>app
camera.odex in system>app
media_profiles.xml in etc

datapattern_front_420sp.yuv
datapattern_420sp_gio.yuv
datapattern_420sp.yuv
those files are in cameradata

and what those files do?

if im not mistake permission is rw-r--r-- for all files but not for folder
