Rooting/ Unrooting in Custom ROMS

Hey guys!
Wanted to ask that are custom Roms like Cynogen7.2, 7.1, Giopro, Simpligio and others when installed are rooted? I mean that if your gio is unrooted in stock froyo, when flashing any other custom ROM it automatically gets rooted or you have to apply methods like Super one click or in CWM apply root_gb file which is available in other forums....????
