SAMSUNG KIES PROBLEM

why does it say: your device does not support software upgrades via Kies, when i connect my gio?
i have the latest version of kies

what is the android version you have? if you flashed different ROM then there is a possibilities that your device will not be recognized....

Check the mobile phone settings

Please check whether the USB connection on your mobile phone is set to 'Samsung Kies'.
For Android Platform mobile phones, go to Settings > Applications > Development and make sure that the USB debugging is set to OFF..

Exactly,if you have a custom ROM is more than sure Kies won't recognize your phone.

i have the original rom, no custom.

Umm,what rom do you have at this moment ?

If you're using Windows 7 , try "Run as Amdinistrator"

What Android version are you running?
Maybe you have already the latest version.

2.3.3 but many sites and forums say that 2.3.4 is the newest official

Yeah, well im 2.3.3 stock aswell and theres no update for me.

i had the same problem i delet kies and instal it again and now its working

It's useless to try to make it work.It didn't work for me too.

Besides, I asked myself the question: why do I need the USB cable? It's only purpose(except of charging the phone-which works even if the phone is NOT RECOGNIZED- is to install the ap2sd patch(the one that makes almost all aplications movable to the SD card, can be found on this forum and worked for me after I rooted my phone, even if the phone wasn't recognized as an extra partition or device).

If you want to make a connection between phone and PC, just use the SD card adaptor, which comes along in the phone's package.Or transfer the files you wish through bluetooth or via uploading them on various internet sharing sites.The choice is yours.

So, why do you need a fully working USB cable connection between phone and PC?

Uploading? Just use Airdroid.
